This 5 page paper discusses 1,2 Kings. This was originally one work but it was divided in the mid-1400s into the two. General information is provided about Kings, such as the author, the dates and the years covered and the message of the Books. The focus of these two Books is the spiritual relationship of the monarchs with God. When the king followed the rules as established in the Mosaic and other covenants, the nation was blessed; when he did not, the nation was punished. Kings begins in the last days of the reign of David and ends with the destruction of the great Temple in Jerusalem. This is a tragic and a sad story but it is also one of hope and encouragement.
